Our Standards Are Public
Transparency is the cornerstone of our mission. Fur Reel Talent publishes its welfare guidelines, verification protocols, and enforcement policies so every production partner and every handler knows exactly what we stand for and how we enforce it. Our standards are aligned with the American Humane Society's Guidelines for the Safe Use of Animals in Filmed Media (March 2026).
Our Three-Tier Verification System
Fur Reel Talent verifies every profile before it goes live. Every tier requires positive reinforcement training methods, verified ID, a signed welfare agreement, proof of liability coverage, and current vet records. No exceptions.
Platinum
Professional Trainers and Wranglers
Verified production credits and references, positive reinforcement methods, skills video per animal, and full credential verification.
Gold
Owner-Handlers
Skills video per animal, verified credits and references, or completion of our set-readiness assessment. Full directory visibility.
Standard
Animal Talent Owners
Skills video and set-readiness assessment. A verified handler from our roster is coordinated for all on-set work.
* All tiers also require verified ID, a signed welfare agreement, proof of liability coverage, and current vet records for every animal. Optional credentials such as CPDT certification, USDA licenses, or state permits are verified and displayed as additional badges.

Animal Talent Tiers
Rising Star
Every animal on Fur Reel Talent is assigned a tier based on verified experience, training level, and production history. Tiers are assigned by Fur Reel Talent based on submitted documentation. They are not self-reported.
Trained behaviors, multiple production credits, and a proven track record on set.

Advanced skills and an extensive professional career.

Positive Reinforcement Required
Fur Reel Talent requires positive reinforcement training methods across all tiers. Reward-based training using treats, praise, play, and clicker methods. Patience-based conditioning built on the animal's willing participation. Recognition of stress signals and immediate removal of the animal from the stressor.

Wild and exotic animals used in filmed media without appropriate federal and state permits are illegal in California. Fur Reel Talent accepts these species only through licensed organizations because compliance is non-negotiable.
Our Species Policy
We adhere to strict species policies to ensure that every animal featured on Fur Reel Talent is treated with the highest level of care. We do not accept primates, wild-caught animals, or animals from known unethical breeding operations. Our focus is on domesticated species and exotic animals managed by licensed professional wranglers who meet our welfare standards.

Reporting
Anyone on a set (actor, crew, or bystander) can report a welfare concern through our anonymous portal. All reports are taking seriously and investigated thoroughly.
Our Enforcement Policy
Publishing standards is not enough. Fur Reel Talent enforces them.
Random Audits
Professional Profiles are subject to random audits of their methods and credentials. Continued roster status requires consistent adherence to our welfare terms.
Zero Tolerance
Confirmed violations of our welfare policy result in permanent removal from Fur Reel Talent. We report animal abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
Aligned with American Humane Society Standards
The safety and well-being of animal performers is the responsibility of everyone on set. Fur Reel Talent mandates that all production partners utilize the American Humane Society's Guidelines for the Safe Use of Animals in Filmed Media as their operating manual. We provide these standards to help our handlers and production partners ensure that no animal is harmed during the creative process.
